A mixed group of nationalities, Scots, Swedes a Spanish and a Brit not to mention a Swede living in England, most having been here before so it was an experienced crew visiting us this week.
The week started slow, due to cold weather and therefore cold water. The fish was quite reluctant to take the flies even though we saw quite a few in the pools. By Wednesday the temperature climbed a bit and Thursday we had the nicest sunny weather one could imagine (not the best seatrout weather though), but the temperatures climbed and best of all, the river rose with app. 15cm, from –10 - +5 and with a water temperature around 13C conditions were just about perfect for Friday, which also paid of with 14 fish just in the morning session.
Fishing was, as always, mostly done with intermediate lines and regular nylon leaders. Flies worth mentioning would be: EMB’s, Bitch Creek and Silver Stoat. Of course in the last hours of day, bigger flies like Sunrays or larger Wolly Buggers worked very good.

Some people are lucky some aren’t, Jamie and Peppe belongs to the latter, while Paul definitely is amongst the first, since he landed not only the biggest fish of the season, but also the two biggest fish of the week. Jamie and Peppe? Well, we better not say too much!
We saw quite a few smaller fish 3-4 lbs at the end of the week, so there’s a larger run of fish on the way, and maybe that was what we saw the first of on the Friday, and by Friday night the first bigger fish arrived. A great week after all, good laughs and lots of jokes, and a few practical ones too.
