I’m sure everybody says that it’s a trip of a lifetime, the only thing is, they are all correct; definitely true. U r treated like a king from the moment u arrive; staff guides are all A1 s and that’s not to forget the fishing, stupendous wildlife and of course the wonderful beer and wine. Mother nature was somewhat unkind, if you call 15° and sunny ,unkind. The fish were basking in the summer conditions, instead of feeding. But the trip was wonderful and I will return third and fourth time if necessary to catch that elusive 20lb trout.

A fisherman can get the blues In winter time; so David Hughes, Big Jules and (less big) Tony Naines Decided to reduce the pains And take a trip. We wanted trout. That’s really what is all about. Of these we need a goodish number And food and booze and peaceful slumber. We want some friends both old and new. I had to see a ñandu. I said “I will not go unless I’m pampered in the wilderness”. We’d heard about this bloke called Reid Whose place is very good indeed. We said “the thing we need to cheer us Up’s a trip to Las Buitreras”. And were we right? This place is nice. It’s not just nice, it’s paradise! Carlito’s kitchen rightly gets The accolade of three rosettes. Then there’s Martina and Mercedes; Charming, helpful, gorgeous ladies. The guides are pretty gorgeous too, There’s nothing they won’t do for you. You get the bites: you get the flights: And then you get the bragging rights. If you’re a really lucky bounder You get to land a twenty pounder! You want a drink? It’s hard to stop With luscious wine five bucks a pop! I told the Jefe what I know – sure It’s just as good as in the brochure.
