Week 01
Three swedes and an englishman started up the Buitreras season. Thomas and Bruce were here last year and have definitely been bitten by the "Buitreras Bug". Göran is "regular as clockwork" in his visits down here. Nina was the newcomer in the group. New to fly fishing this was no easy task for her with wind and heavy equipment...more >>
Week 02
Eight norwegians, two englishmen and a swede came to visit us this second week of the season. Eight of the party hadn't been here before and, due to trouble with tickets, bookings and whatnot, we didn't think they were going to make it either. Three of the party had been here before and I'll bet we'll see all of the group again. As always weather is hard to predict here in Patagonia. This week was no exception...more >>
Week 03
A busy week it was, eventhough we only had six rods fishing on a regular basis, we also had two film crews, one from Sweden and one from the US. So it was indeed a multi national week, with Swedes, Americans, Irish and German...more >>
Week 04
Our dear friends returned for the 4. year. They're all very familiar with the river, since this was the 9. season on the river in total. They know what to expect fishing Patagonia, but still I think this week surprised them a little...more >>
Week 05
It had to happen! Eventhough it wasn't so much the low water, but the very warm, sunny and windless days we had most of the week. Fishing was difficult, and it's even more frustrating that you can actually see that the fish is there, but they're reluctant to take the fly...more >>
Week 06
Werner Zirngibl with family and friends, accompanied by Eoin Fairgrieve. All in all a difficult week, not only the fishing, but also for those of us who had to listen to Eoin, playing the guitarand singing all night. Luckily, Fabian “Fabster” Zirngibl was an exellent guitar-player, so inbetween there was some very nice tunes...more >>
Week 07
Tapio Sorsa leading a group of fellow countrymen along with them a group from Finnish Television. A very interesting week, since the TV-crew was on a mision to find out what was the most efficient tackle, spin or fly...more >>
Week 08
Finally! Finally the river rose, not a lot but just enough to bring it back to what we call normal water-level. Unfortunately it didn't rise until Wednesday, but it's been what we needed for the last few weeks...more >>
Week 10
Sweden vs. “The rest of the world”. The obviously very competitive Swedes challenged the rest of our guests already Saturday evening, before they even had a chance of taking a closer look on who they actually challenged. The Swedish team, of Robert Frohm, Bertil Eliasson, Hans Myrin and Mats Bathen, of which Robert Frohm was the team captain, started out very with a tremendous speed, while “the rest of the world”...more >>
Week 11
Summer seems finally to have ended! It's gettting autum now, the weather changed from one day to the other. From 28C and no wind, to 12C but still without wind tough. The water temperature dropped as well, as low as 7C...more >>
Week 09
Sunday the river rose to the highest level this season, a rise of 20 cm to +7 over normal waterlevel. Since the summer's been very warm and with low and clear water, the algea have had perfect growth conditions, and with the water rising, it drifted a bit down the river, but it wasn't impossible to fish. ..more >>
Week 12
FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Finally we got the first flod of the season, water started rising Friday and continued Saturday, so we ended up at the +40cm mark. The higest waterleve we've had all season, and what not only we've been needing, but what most fisheries in Argentina had needed...more >>
