Summer seems finally to have ended!
It's gettting autum now, the weather changed from one day to the other. From 28C and no wind, to 12C but still without wind tough. The water temperature dropped as well, as low as 7C.
Zander Kennie stayed with us for another week, but had company from Spain and the UK. From Spain “The Yatu Brothers” Jamie and Pedro, this year they brought Manu as well, Jamie and Pedro had both been here before, while Manu was a “first-timer” but that didn't show in the catch-statistics......
Simon and David was the “easy-going” group, or slow starters you could call 'em, but they both ended up breaking their own personal setrout record.
David brought his wife Sarah, and eventhough the gauchos were busy, we did mangae to “catch” a horse for her, and beeing an exellent horseback rider, she enjoyed the river form horseback.
Tim challenged Zander in the titel of toprod, while Kim smashed up our guides in a titel match of rugby.
A very enjoyable week, with one of the higest avg. weights of the season. Eventhough the river dropped from-15cm to -30cm (which is very unusual for this time of year) this group did well. Not only in the fishing but not at least in the social part, good laughs and great company. At least until the “Brits” heard the rugby result where Scotland beat England 15-9..... then the atmosphere dropped for a couple of minutes on one side while the Scottish were “over the top”.
The river is still low, very low for this time of year, but Friday evening it started to rain so hopefully we'll see some change in the near future. The watertemperature is fine though, the nights are now longer and colder, so it ranged from 7C-14C which is fine.
It's still Inetmediate lines and singelhanded rods or light doublehanded. Flies are getting a bit bigger as the watertemperature drops, but again this week the notorius Yuk-Bug was the best choise.
